There are a number of annual events in Vista Verde. The Spring Fling is a progressive party for residents that takes place on a Saturday in the April - May time frame. The party progresses through the homes of three residents who offer to host the party. Wine, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, and hors d'oeuvres are funded by the VVCA and provided by volunteers.
The Summer Picnic takes place at Pony Tracks Ranch at the end of Old Spanish Trail. The Littlefield family graciously hosts this event on their spectacular property. Residents bring salads and desserts, while the VVCA provides hamburgers, hot dogs, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages. Tours of the Littlefield military vehicle collection and rides on their small-gauge railroad are provided.
Emergency Preparedness Exercises take place twice a year, with one exercise simulating an massive earthquake and another simulating a major wildland fire. Participants work through scenarios and deal with simulated injuries and property damage while using their FRS radios to communicate with the command post. These exercises are carried out in concert with CERPP.
The VVCA semi-Annual Meeting is held at a resident's home. VVCA activities and finances are reviewed, and relevant topics of interest are discussed. New VVCA officers may be nominated and elected at this twice yearly meeting. VVCA Officers serve for up to 2 years and have been traditionally chosen during the winter meeting.
